The Weidenbaum Center facilitates faculty research (primarily in the Departments of Economics and Political Science) by supporting promising research. The Center is particularly interested in supporting collaborative research, research that has a high probability of prominent publication, and research that will lead to the pursuit of external funding. An important part of the Center's mission is to assist faculty in funding student work and to aid in their pursuit of finding external funding which provides a direct benefit to their department, expands opportunities for both faculty and students, and often enhances the research experiences of both graduate and undergraduate students.
Funds are primarily used for research assistant support (both undergraduate and graduate), research travel, and the purchasing of data. Examples of the types of projects the Center funds, as well as a brief description of how Center support aids research efforts, can be seen below. Publications in part resulting from this research can be found here.
