2022 Weidenbaum Distinguished Keynote Lecture featuring Olivier Blanchard
Keynote title: "Fiscal Policy in an Era of Low Interest Rates"
Please join us for a presentation from one of the most prominent academic economists of his generation and an influential analyst of economic policy. Professor Blanchard has studied the economic impact of fiscal policy throughout his career and is a leading voice in rethinking how government spending and taxation affect economic growth, employment, financial markets, and inflation in the years after the Great Recession of 2008-09 and the economic crisis induced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We also will be especially pleased to present Professor Blanchard with the Murray Weidenbaum Medal for Excellence, named in honor of one of Washington University's most distinguished economists and public servants.
This event will be moderated by Steven Fazzari, Director of the Weidenbaum Center on the Economy, Government, and Public Policy, the Bert A. Jeanette L. Lynch Distinguished Professor of Economics, and Professor of Sociology at Washington University in St. Louis.
This event is proudly presented in conjunction with Washington University's Eliot Society Speaker Series, Department of Economics, and French Connexions Cultural Center.
